DragonPace Privacy Policy

DragonPace is a local-first iPhone app for dragon boat training records, GPS route metrics, stroke-rate estimates, team notes, and optional front-camera video.
Summary
- DragonPace is designed so the developer does not collect app data from the current local-first app.
- The app has no ads, no developer-operated account system, no cloud sync, no analytics SDK, no crash reporting SDK, no advertising SDK, no remote telemetry, and no tracking domains.
- Training sessions, GPS samples, rejected GPS fix evidence, motion samples, stroke events, videos, team rosters, boat assignments, coach notes, and settings are stored on your device unless you choose to export, share, save to Photos, or attach files to a support email.
- DragonPace is completely free, with no in-app purchases, subscriptions, ads, or paid features.
- Public 1.0 does not request Bluetooth permission.
Data Stored On Device
DragonPace may store the following data locally on your device:
- Training session summaries, elapsed time, distance, speed, GPS quality, route samples, split metrics, cadence, stroke events, and diagnostics.
- Accepted GPS telemetry used for official session distance, speed, route, and review.
- Rejected or failed GPS fix records used only for later analysis and troubleshooting. These records are kept separate from accepted telemetry.
- Motion and IMU samples used for stroke-rate analysis and replay.
- Optional front-camera videos and generated watermarked video exports.
- Optional coach notes, record names, team rosters, athlete roles, boat lineups, seat assignments, and CSV backups.
- App settings such as language, GPS training preference, GPS warm-up preference, video watermark settings, and local UI preferences.
This local data is used to show training history, charts, route maps, video playback, exports, and support summaries inside the app.
Data Collection
DragonPace is designed so training, location, video, motion, roster, and settings data stay on your device by default. The developer does not receive this data unless you choose to export, share, save to Photos, or send files through a support channel outside the app.
If you send a support email, attach an exported file, or share screenshots or videos, the information you choose to send will be received by the recipient of that message.
The app does not use third-party advertising networks and does not sell your data.
Permissions
DragonPace may ask for these iOS permissions when relevant:
- Location: to record route, speed, distance, GPS quality, and session-relative telemetry.
- Motion: to estimate paddling cadence and stroke events from device motion when enabled.
- Camera and microphone: to record optional front-camera training video with audio.
- Photos: to save raw or watermarked videos only after you choose a Photos action.
Permission prompts are controlled by iOS. You can change permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
Public 1.0 does not request Bluetooth permission.
Free Access
DragonPace is currently completely free to use, with no in-app purchases, subscriptions, ads, or paid features. All existing training features are available without payment.
The app has no payment processing or transaction data flow. If a future version changes its data handling, this policy will be updated before release.
Sharing And Exports
DragonPace supports user-triggered sharing of CSV files, ZIP backups, videos, watermarked exports, team-management backups, and support summaries.
These actions are started by you. The app does not automatically upload training, location, video, audio, roster, or support-report data to the developer.
Once you export or share data to another destination, that destination may process or store the data according to its own policies. Examples include Files, Mail, Messages, Photos, AirDrop, cloud storage apps, or another app you choose.
Data Retention And Deletion
Training data is primarily stored on your device. You can delete records in the app where deletion is available, or delete the app to remove its local data from the device.
Exported files, shared files, saved videos, screenshots, or support attachments must be deleted separately from the places where you saved or sent them.
Accuracy And Safety
GPS, speed, distance, route, stroke-rate, and stroke-count estimates can be affected by iPhone placement, GPS signal, water conditions, boat vibration, and the training environment.
DragonPace is a training record and review tool. It is not intended for emergency, rescue, medical, navigation, or official race adjudication use.
Children
DragonPace is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. The app does not provide a developer-operated account system or automatic developer upload.
Changes To This Policy
This privacy policy may be updated when DragonPace changes its features, data handling, or release scope. The latest version will be available at this page.
