DragonPace Privacy Policy

Data stored on your device

DragonPace may store the following locally:

• Training summaries, elapsed time, distance, speed, GPS quality, route samples, splits, cadence, stroke events and diagnostics.
• Accepted GPS telemetry used for official session distance, speed and route, and, separately, rejected GPS fixes kept only for troubleshooting.
• Motion samples used for cadence estimates.
• Optional training videos and Watermark videos you create.
• Optional AI reference data: observed body joints and confidence, the original video’s checksum and timestamps, the target you selected, observed and unknown time ranges, and analysis versions.
• Coach notes, record names, rosters, athlete roles and optional weights, boat lineups and CSV backups.
• Settings such as language, GPS preferences, watermark settings and display preferences.

This data is used to show history, charts, route maps, video playback, exports and support summaries inside the app.

Optional AI Tracking Reference

AI Tracking Reference is off by default. When you enable it for a recording, or rerun analysis on a recorded video (including an original you choose from Photos), camera frames or video frames are analysed on the iPhone with Apple Vision.

• Body joints and recording-local target numbers describe visible movement. They do not identify a person or build a profile across recordings.
• To keep following each visible paddler, the app may briefly compare body position and clothing-colour samples. These stay in memory and are cleared when that analysis ends; they are not saved as a person-identification database.
• Rerunning analysis on a recorded video asks for your consent and saves a separate reference revision. It never replaces the original video or the official training record.
• Exporting a video with body lines is optional and off by default; it creates a new video, which may show the selected body lines and reference labels if you share it.
• AI observations may be incomplete or wrong. They are reference estimates, kept separate from official measurements, and are not used for cloud model training.

Data collection and the destinations you choose

Training, location, motion, video, roster and settings data are stored on your device by default. DragonPace does not automatically send this data to the developer. When you choose to export, share or save to Photos, the destination you select handles the data under its own settings and policies. Saving to Photos does not itself send data to the developer. Information you send by support email is received by the support recipient.

Permissions

DragonPace asks for these iOS permissions when relevant:

• Location: route, speed, distance, GPS quality and session timing. “Always” is only needed if you turn on background or lock-screen recording.
• Motion: cadence estimates from device motion.
• Camera and microphone: optional training video with audio. With AI tracking enabled for a recording, frames are also analysed on the iPhone.
• Photos: saving original or Watermark videos when you choose to, and playing back videos the app saved there.

You can change permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

Sharing and exports

You can choose to share CSV files, ZIP backups, videos, Watermark videos, team backups and support summaries. These actions are always started by you. Once shared to Files, Mail, Messages, Photos, AirDrop or another app, that destination handles the data under its own policies.

Training-data ZIP backups do not include videos. Share or save original and exported videos separately.

Retention and deletion

You can delete records in the app; deleting a whole record removes its local data, including its AI reference files. Removing a single video does not automatically remove every saved reference revision. Deleting a record in DragonPace does not delete videos already saved to Photos. Deleting the app removes its local data. Exported or shared copies must be deleted where you saved or sent them.

Free access

DragonPace is currently completely free to use, with no in-app purchases, subscriptions, ads, or paid features. All existing training features are available without payment. There is no payment processing or transaction data.

Accuracy and safety

GPS, speed, distance, route, cadence, stroke and AI estimates can be affected by phone placement, signal, water conditions, boat vibration and the training environment. DragonPace is a training record and review tool, not for emergency, rescue, medical, navigation or official race use.

Children

DragonPace is not designed for children and is not a Made for Kids app.

Changes

If a future version adds accounts, cloud sync, analytics, crash reporting, support upload, remote AI, payments or third-party SDKs that change data handling, this policy will be updated before release. The latest version is always on this page.
